Dr. Chris Anderson

Chris Anderson is an assistant research professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and coordinator for the Sub-Antarctic Ecosystems and Biocultural Conservation research cluster and affiliated program. He has worked in research, education and conservation in southern Chile for over a decade, co-founding the Omora Park and helping create the Cape Horn Biosphere Reserve. Research interests include the role of invasive species in socio-ecological systems, stream ecosystem ecology and biocultural conservation. Since 2004 he has been the President of the Omora Sub-Antarctic Research Alliance. As coordinator of the Sub-Antarctic Ecosystems and Biocultural Conservation research cluster and program, Anderson continues to work at the University of North Texas and the Universidad de Magallanes to implement an interdisciplinary agenda that links academia with society.
