Data Management Plans are required for ALL NSF proposals starting with proposals with due dates on or after January 18, 2011.
Proposals without the required Data Management Plan will be returned from NSF without review.
Only the NSF units listed below have published specific guidelines thus far, but the list has been growing steadily. It is possible that more units within NSF will produce general guidelines in the future. For a complete, up-to-date list, of guidelines for preparation of Data Management Plans for various areas within NSF, see the following Web site: http://www.nsf.gov/bfa/dias/policy/dmp.jsp.
Please note: Check specific program solicitations for additional information. Any guidance within a specific program solicitation must be followed, regardless of existing general guidelines that might seem to apply.

For assistance in preparing the Data Management Plan, feel free to contact the UNT Research Development Team, Dr. Denise Perry Simmons or Dr. Richard Nader.
UNT is exploring ways to centrally archive and make accessible certain types of data. If this is of potential interest to you, please attend one of the upcoming faculty forums on this topic (dates to be announced) or contact Ruthanne Thomas, Associate Vice President for Research to discuss your needs.
