For each of his four seasons at North Texas, Johnny Quinn was the Mean Green’s receiver leading receiver.

In his four-year career, Quinn hauled in 187 receptions (then a school record) for 2,718 yards, which set the top mark in career receiving yards. He had 21 career touchdown receptions and earned Sun Belt All-Conference honors three times.

Quinn is also second in school history with 3,835 all-purpose yards for his career, and is the only player in school history with more than 500 yards receiving in four straight seasons. He had six 100-yard receiving games in his career and two games of over 150 yards receiving. He led North Texas in punt returns for three straight seasons from 2004-06 and led the 2005 team in kickoff-return yardage.

Quinn earned a degree in criminal justice at North Texas, and after college he played briefly in the NFL and Canadian Football League, then turned his attention to a new sport: bobsled. His combination of speed and strength drew the attention of the United States Bobsled Team, and Quinn competed in the sport for the first time at the U.S. team trials in Lake Placid, New York, placing third. He competed in the 2014 Winter Olympic team.
