Mean Green Dominate Middle Tennessee 4-0

Murfreesboro, Tenn. (4/16/10) - Mean Green Tennis downed the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders 4-0, Friday afternoon in their second to last match of the regular season.

North Texas (13-5) captured the victory by taking the doubles point and the first three singles matches.

"We stayed mentally focused today did what we had to do," said head coach Sujay Lama. "Now we have a day to prepare to play a tough Troy team."

Moving back to the No. 1 singles slot, junior Amy Joubert and Irina Paraschiv dominated the Blue Raiders Natalie Araya and Alex Dachos 8-1.

In singles, Catalina Cruz, Narine Kazarova and Irina Paraschiv all tallied wins.

All three players flew through their matches, with Cruz only losing two games in a straight set, 6-1, 6-1, victorty.

Kazarova extended her personal win streak to eight matches when she defeated Yuiri Nomoto in two sets, 6-1, 6-2.

Paraschiv completed the North Texas victory with a 6-1, 6-3 sweep of Natalie Araya.

The Mean Green will be back in action on Sunday morning at 11 am when it takes on Troy from Murfreesboro, Tenn.
