RUSTON, La. -- The North Texas women's basketball team's five-game winning streak was snapped Thursday night at Louisiana Tech as the Mean Green fell 65-49 in the Thomas Assembly Center.

The Mean Green (11-15, 8-7 C-USA) were outrebounded by 14 and shot 25 percent in the second half while the Lady Techsters (16-11, 11-5 C-USA) also made 15 more free throws than North Texas in the game to pull away.

"We got to put this behind us and start a new streak," senior Kelsey Criner said. "They're a good team that can rebound and they showed that."

Foul trouble and free throws also hurt North Texas the last time these two teams met at the Super Pit in January.

Thursday night the Mean Green showed their shooting ability, though, as they made eight 3-pointers in the game. Freshman Adrianna Henderson didn't miss and made a season-high three 3-pointers while senior Candice Adams got out to a strong start. Her two 3-pointers early in the first quarter gave North Texas a lead which they held for four minutes before a late quarter run by La Tech. Adams now has 51 made 3-pointers on the season, which is eighth most in program history for a single season. Her now 150-made career 3-pointers are fourth most in program history. Adams moved into 15th all-time in scoring as she passed 2008 graduated Erica Howard Thursday night. Adams now has 854 career points.

North Texas' 16 assists on the night are tied for the second most they've had in a game this season. Sophomore Tyara Warren led the Mean Green with six assists, which is a career-high for the guard.
