Five Mean Green men earned All-Conference honors with first team accolades awarded to Florian Lussy, Tim Jones and Jack Beaumont. A second team nod went to Andrew Cobos, and Alec Esposito garnered a third team honor. On the women’s side, Rea Iseli achieved first team recognition by clocking the second-best 5k in UNT history.

At the South Central Regional, Lussy became just the third cross country runner in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships with his third place finish in a time of 31:41.6 and was awarded All-Region honors. Jack Beaumont also earned All-Region with his 18thplace finish in a time of 32:18.2. Iseli finished in 15thplace in a time of 21:18.9 to also attain All-Region.

A record four Mean Green were selected to the 2018 InTouch Credit Union Conference USA Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Teams in Beaumont, Lussy, Iseli and Cassidy Adams. North Texas achieved the highest number of student-athletes within C-USA to be named to the team. The season's total nearly equals the program's previous cumulative total of five since UNT joined C-USA in 2013.

In his first season with the Mean Green, Williams guided Susannah Lynch and Mike Lowe to All-Region honors as Lynch set a school record with a time of 20:03.6 at the NCAA South Central Regional. Five Mean Green earned all-conference accolades while the men took fourth place and the women fifth at the Conference USA Championships. Victoria Junious was named to the 2017 Conference USA InTouch Credit Union Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team.

Williams came to the Mean Green after spending two seasons at the University of Portland. In 2016-2017, Williams directed the Lady Pilots to a West Coast Conference title and Cross Country Nationals at-large bid. Lauren LaRocco earned All-America and was West Coast Conference individual champion. The Pilot men earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Cross Country Championships where they finished 13th. Five Pilots earned All-West Region honors.

During the 2015-2016 season, LaRocco earned All-America honors in both the 5k and 10k as the Lady Pilots attained their highest finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championships. The women also earned the No. 2 overall GPA for NCAA Division I Track and Field. Senior Reid Buchanan earned All-America honors in the indoor 3k and outdoor 10k. After an incredible season where he broke three program records and achieved multiple nation leading times, senior Woody Kincaid finished eighth at the US Olympic Trials in the 5000m where he was the top collegiate finisher.

As a student-athlete, Williams competed in 2008-13 at the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in marketing.
