Diving Completes First Invite of the Season

HOUSTON – The North Texas diving team completed its first invite of the season Saturday night, placing fourth as a team at the Houston Diving Invitational.

"It was a good weekend of tough competition," diving coach Mark Murdock said. "There is work to do but I know this team is capable of putting in the effort."

The Mean Green were unable to find a podium in any of the three events of the two-day event, but did have three top-10 finishers in the one-meter competition. Junior Meghan Miller led the way with a score of 228.85 to finish sixth individually.

North Texas competed in the platform diving competition for the first time this season while in Houston. The Mean Green had six divers in the platform final and turned in three top-15 finishes, led by Miller who finished 13th with a score of 153.95.

"This was our first invite and the divers are ready to step up their games," Murdock said.

North Texas will be back in action on November 2 when the divers join the swimmers as they head to Dallas for duals with SMU and LSU.
