Candain Callahan hit her first homer of the spring, a two-run homer in the second. Tayla Evans also hit her first homer of the fall, a massive solo home run to straight-away center. Nicole Ochotnicki got in on the long-ball party with a two-run shot in the eighth to make the score 14-3, her first of the fall.

North Texas has outscored its opponents 52-16 through three games this fall for a 3-0 start.

"It was a really good performance," head coach Rodney DeLong said. "That's a good JuCo. They are well coached and pitch well. We swung the bat really well. I'm proud of how we competed tonight."

Bailey Tindell got the start for North Texas pitching three scoreless innings and striking out one. Ariel Thompson came in to relieve her, going three innings, striking out the side in the sixth. She surrendered a three-run homer in the fourth which tied the game at three before responding well putting up zeroes.

"She had to settle in," DeLong said. "She came in at a good spot in their order. She really settled in and the next time she faced them she faired well. She really pitched well, and I think the more innings she gets the more comfortable she'll get. She has a chance to really help us."

Lauren Craine worked a quick 1-2-3 inning in the seventh before making way for Hope Trautwein. Trautwein worked through her three innings quickly, and perfectly, striking out six.

North Texas returns to action on Friday with a 4 p.m. first pitch against Butler Community College at home. All fall games are open to the public at Lovelace Stadium.
