Mean Green Tie In Heartbreak

ORLANDO — In its final exhibition match of the year, the North Texas soccer team drew 3-3 Sunday morning at Central Florida after the Golden Knights scored the equalizer with 49 seconds left in the match.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, the Mean Green scored a goal late in the first half by junior captain Logan Bruffett and then took the lead midway through the second half with a goal by freshman Michelle Gonzalez

The game got intense in the final 10 minutes when UCF tied the match with seven minutes to go only to quickly give it up when UNT freshman Taylor Hunter found the back of the net with four minutes left. 

After regulation the coaches called the match due to it being a a exhibition.

UNT plays its first regular season match on Thursday at 7 p.m. when it host Northwestern State in its new Soccer and Track &  Field Complex. Season tickets are available.
