Official transcript(s) from every college/university attended

  • Please note, all transcripts are required. If you took one course at a community college or participated in a study abroad opportunity, we will need a transcript from the college where you completed the class.

  • If you are still enrolled in classes, please request a transcript from your current institution after grades for the fall semester post to your record. We will also need to see your Spring registration (if you are enrolled for Spring)

  • If you attended a college/university outside the U.S. you must submit an official WES or ECE course-by-course evaluation as well as the official transcript. WES has an option where they will send us your transcript along with their evaluation, in that case you don't have to send us an additional transcript on your own.

  • 2 Letters of recommendation

  • The applicant must contact their recommenders to request the letters. We do not do this for the applicant. The letters of recommendation must be received from the recommender if emailed and not the applicant.

  • Letters must be on letterhead and signed.

    • Please ask your recommenders to scan and email their letters to GoToGradSchool@unthsc.edu if they choose not to upload their letter to the applicant's application. The email must come from your recommender's university email address or their place of employment

    • Letters can also be mailed to the address above.

  • Those that use Interfolio can have the letters emailed to GoToGradSchool@unthsc.edu from Interfolio.

  • A letter of recommendation from a Health Professions Advisory Committee will meet the requirement for two letters of recommendation.
  • Test scores

  • An official GRE score is required. Institution code: 6909

  • An official TOEFL or IELTS score is required for applicants who are not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents, unless you've completed a degree program within the U.S. Institution code: 6909.

  • Admissions Process

    Application Submission:

    1. Submit the Online Application
    2. Pay the $50 application fee
    3. After the application fee has been posted, you will receive an email with a PIN that will allow you to activate your MyHSC student portal, where you can check the status of your application.
      • If you’ve applied to any UNT/UNTHSC program in the past, you should already have access to MyHSC and will not receive this email. You can click the forgot EUID/password links on the login page to access your record.
      • If you have activated your MyHSC student portal and cannot access your account, please contact the IT Help Desk.
    4. The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences will begin to process your application and create check-list items to be completed in order to proceed through the application process.  The check-list items can be viewed on your MyHSC student portal.
    5. Submit remaining documents required for the application.

Application Review: All completed applications are reviewed by the admissions committee.  The admissions committee reviews applications completed by the deadline from January through April.  When your application goes to review, the committee decides one of the following three options:

    1. Offer admission
      • Decision will be updated on the applicant’s MyHSC student portal and a decision letter is emailed.
    2. Deny admission
      • Decision will be updated on the applicant’s MyHSC student portal and a decision letter is emailed.
    3. Deferred decision
      • Applicant is initially reviewed but not given a final decision.  Admissions committee will revisit applicant’s file once the full cycle has been completed for a final decision.
