Applied Physiology Laboratory

University of North Texas

Welcome to the website for The University of North Texas Applied Physiology Laboratory. This laboratory is located within the Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation and also associated with the Department of Biological Sciences.  The Applied Physiology Laboratory specializes in research and education in the areas of exercise physiology, nutrition, resistance exercise, and the immune system.

The Applied Physiology Laboratory includes over 8,000 square feet of state-of-the-art facilities for the measurement of bioanalytical outcomes following various exercise or nutritional treatments. The APL team routinely partners with industry to support expanding R&D needs at a lower cost point than a contract research organization is capable of achieving.

The laboratory is divided into two main areas dedicated to human physiology testing and biological analysis of collected samples.

Laboratory personnel include co-directors Drs. Hill, McFarlin, and Vingren, laboratory medical director Dr. Bowman and  laboratory manager Mr. Curtis. The full-time laboratory personnel are supported by undergraduate and graduate research fellows working in the APL.
