Gary Finney, SPHR, is director of Campus Human Resources for UNT System Administration and UNT Dallas, including the UNT Dallas College of Law.

His role is to:

• deliver value added service to management and leadership

• serve as an internal consultant to advise campus leadership regarding administration of HR policies, resolution of HR issues and workforce development

• support System programs related to classification and compensation, employee relations, performance management  and staff development

Before joining the UNT System, he held managerial and senior Human Resources positions at AmerisourceBergen, a Pennsylvania-based global generic purchasing organization for pharmaceutical services, the Dallas Morning News, McKesson Corporation, and Associates First Capital.  

He is a graduate of Texas A&M - Commerce and past president of the Texas A&M - Commerce alumni association. He is an adjunct instructor for the Dallas County Community College District. 

Finney holds certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the Society for Human Resource Management. He is a former diversity committee director for the Dallas Human Resources Association, former president of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources and is a Certified Executive Coach.
