Intership
Smith Shop is now accepting applications for full-time interns to begin in Winter 2020. Smith Shop is a celebrated community oriented studio that executes commission and production work, offers classes, and facilitates a larger metalworking community in Detroit, MI.
Applicants should have a solid technical foundation in jewelry making, hollowware, and/or blacksmithing. The successful candidate will be able to manage tasks independently and communicate effectively. I...nterns will work 35 hours per week on Smith Shop projects. A BFA in metals or equivalent experience is preferable.
Benefits include studio access, free classes, housing stipend, and teaching opportunities. Internship is a 3-month term with possibility of extension. Terms are flexible.

The Center for Art in Wood's annual Windgate international residency is accepting applications for 2020 and 2021 sessions.
Residency fellowsh...ips comprise:
* Artists, designers, or makers working (and proficient) in wood;
* Documentary artists, photographers, or video artists;
* Art historians or researchers in art, craft, or design;
* Art students or recent graduates of arts programs working (and with demonstrated proficiency) in wood.
Applications will be accepted until 23:59 on Wednesday, November 27.
