Part-time Desk Clerk Position Summary

Part-time Desk Clerks work at the residence hall front desk and are responsible for greeting individuals as they enter the building, answering phone calls, assisting residents with checking out equipment, notifying building staff in the case of emergency, and generally providing customer service. Part-time Desk Clerks are expected to learn Housing policies and be able to explain and enforce those policies. This position is under the supervision of the Day Desk Clerk and the Hall Director.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, demonstrating  excellent use of the English language
  • Punctuality and dependability
  • Ability to work without close supervision
  • Ability to work well with others

Work Schedule

Part-time Desk Clerk shifts available vary by hall. Most desk shifts available are during evenings and weekends, including overnight on weekends.

Part-time Desk Clerks are hired at the beginning of each semester and at the end of spring for summer work. Students interested in a Part-time Desk Clerk position should apply online through the Career Center at http://careercenter.unt.edu and follow any additional instructions included in the job posting. The Part-time Desk Clerk position is posted only for students who have accepted College Work Study through Financial Aid.
