In June 2017, UNT President Neal Smatresk attended the President’s Forum and 14th Graduation Ceremony of the Sino-American 1+2+1 China Transfer Program in Dalian City, China.
Nan Chen was admitted to the UNT College of Business in fall 2015 through the China Transfer Program. He is not only a talented student with 4.0 GPA, but also very actively involved in many volunteer activities on campus and off campus. This spring break, when many of his friends went travelling or stayed at home to rest, he joined a self-sponsored mission trip through the “Alternative Spring Break” program organized by the UNT Division of Student Affairs.
China Transfer Program Coordinator Cathy Hu traveled to China in December 2016 to meet with existing and new Transfer Program partners. She visited four universities including Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing Forestry University, Yangzhou University and Nanjing Normal University.
Texas history was made in Summer 2016 when UNT Provost Finley Graves traveled to China to bestow degrees on four students. The four graduated with two degrees from two universities in two countries at the same time – one from the University of North Texas and the other from a university in China participating in the China Transfer Program. The graduates – Qi Liu, Jiajun Teng, Chen Peng and Binghuan Zhang – are the first students to be conferred UNT degrees in China.
