School of Journalism

Burle Pettit is editor emeritus at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, where he still writes a popular weekly column.  He holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from UNT and was a member of the UNT System Board of Regents from 1995-2001. Pettit was awarded a 1994 Green Glory Award from the UNT Alumni Association and was inducted into the Mayborn's C.E. "Pops" Shuford Hall of Honor in 1992.
