Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of North Texas offers a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering. We also have an Executive Master of Science in Computer Science at our Frisco Campus.

Priority Dates
To receive full consideration for an assistantship, all application material must be received by the following dates:
Spring Semester: September 15th
Fall Semester: January 15th
Please note that, in order to be considered for an assistantship, all materials for your application (including all official test scores, letters of recommendation, Assistantship Applications, and transcripts) must arrive at the admissions office by the priority date, so you must request official GRE/TOEFL scores early enough to ensure that they will arrive by the priority date. Complete applications received by the priority date will be ranked and the top applicants will be admitted and awarded assistantship.

Due to the large volume of applications received to the department, we do not pre-review applications via email. Applications are processed by the Graduate School and then forwarded to the department if they meet all the previous departments' requirements. If it states that the application has been forwarded to the department it is in committee to be reviewed. Once a decision has been made it will be posted and reflect on http://my.unt.edu.
Calling or writing the department will NOT speed the process. The department will not give you a time frame on when a decision will be made. The department will contact applicants at the email listed on the application if more information is needed. The department is aware of the appointments that international students make in their countries to receive the proper documentation to attend UNT. Due to the constant change in international law international students need to direct ALL international, I20, and/or VISA questions to the International Advising Department at internationaladvising@unt.edu. The CSE department will NOT advise or answer these questions. Information about an applicant will NOT be given out via telephone, so please email the CSE Graduate Coordinator at Melanie.Dewey@unt.edu.
