Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who should attend advising sessions?
The Prospective Student Advising Session is for any prospective freshman or transfer student who is interested in attending, or already has applied to the University of North Texas with an interest in the College of Education.
  • What happens during an advising session
This session provides an opportunity for a prospective freshman or transfer student to learn about UNT's College of Education academic programs and review how previous course work, if any, applies to these programs. This session is designed to give a personalized, yet brief, overview of the college, majors, admission requirements, and application procedures.

If a student provides transcripts, in advance, of transfer, dual, AP, or IB credit, we will review how these credits might apply at UNT. We will also provide Transfer Guides if you want to complete additional courses at a Texas community college prior to attending UNT.
  • How do I prepare for an advising session
    • Register for a session.
    • Send copies of all transcripts — college and high school — at least two business days before the session.
    • Prepare for travel and parking conditions. If you are more than 14 minutes late to your session, you will be asked to reschedule for another available session.
    • Bring note-taking materials, such as notepad, notebook, pen or pencils.
  • Where do I park?
Arrive early to campus to allow time for parking and to ensure you arrive on time for the Prospective Student Advising Session. If you would like to get a visitor’s parking pass, stop by the Parking and Transportation office in the Highland Street Parking Garage. For additional parking information, visit Visitor Parking.

Matthews Hall 105 is across the street from the Highland Street Parking Garage's northwest corner.
  • Can I take a campus tour?
Campus tours are given by Eagle Ambassadors. Sign up through UNT Campus Visits.
