UNT does not offer a formal program for each of the professions listed above. In other words, we do not offer pre-health programs for which students apply or qualify. Our advising office helps students navigate their path to such a professional program. Due to the intimidating nature of this journey, our mission is to provide students with a plan that is time-efficient, competitive, and aligns favorably with their passion. To explore other health-related programs on the UNT campus, please visit our Health Careers website!

Some of the services we provide are:

  • Personalized advising
  • Career exploration/alternative plans
  • Application guidance and planning (seminars, workshops, etc.)
  • Tutoring
  • Review of entrance requirements
  • Professional timeline
  • Interview preparation
  • HPAC (Health Professions Advisory Committee)

What is JAMP?

JAMP, the Joint Admission Medical Program, is a Texas state-wide program that helps students coming from an underserved or low socio-economic background become physicians. If a student is selected to be a JAMPer and maintains all eligibility requirements, an interview will be extended to the student by each Texas medical school, with a direct entry into one of the medical schools. For more information about JAMP, please visit their website. For current students who would like to learn more about the process of applying to JAMP, please send an email to our JAMP Faculty Director, Dr. Debrah Beck.
