What is an Eagle Alert?

Eagle AlertThe UNT Eagle Alert system notifies the UNT community with immediate emergency information. Students should update their phone number online through the MyUNT portal, my.unt.edu, by logging in with valid UNT credentials—your EUID and password. In the top of the right column, look for Eagle Alert, then click on “Update your information.”

The Eagle Alert system allows UNT administrators to contact campus community members quickly by phone about critical or emergency situations affecting the safety and wellbeing of people on and around the UNT campus. The system sends a message by recorded voice and text to the user's phone and an email to all active students, faculty and staff. The system must have the user's updated information and permission to send text messages for Eagle Alert. Note: Only phone numbers in the U.S. 50 states are supported.

How to update your information in the Eagle Alert System

Check your contact information regularly and update it as soon as it changes by logging in at my.unt.edu.

  • on your My Page, click on the Update Eagle Alert link to go directly to a page where you can update three phone numbers – cell, home and office. In case of an emergency, a text message will be sent to your mobile phone.
  • on the Phone Numbers page, you can indicate if you would like text messages sent to your cell phone.

A message will be sent to the mobile number you provide anytime Eagle Alert is activated.
