Letter to Faculty Regarding New ODA Letters of Accommodation

Fall 2019 ODA Letters of Accommodation were emailed to faculty this morning from our new database AIM.  For more information about the new format of the Letters of Accommodation as well as other process updates, please click this link to open ODA Letter of Accommodation Guidance Information.  

Just go to the AIM Instructor Portal login page and sign in using your university credentials. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!

ODA Testing Center has moved to Hickory Hall!

Due to the construction in Sage Hall, the ODA Testing Center has been temporarily relocated to the second floor of Hickory Hall, room 274. Testing operations will remain in Hickory Hall through the Fall 2019 semester. If you need assistance with scheduling and taking accommodated exams, please go to Hickory Hall, room 274. For questions, contact ODA Testing at testing.oda@unt.edu. 

ODA is moving to a new database!

Students:

As you may know, we have been working hard to continue to remove barriers that prevent students from registering with the ODA and using their accommodations.  To that end, I have wonderful news!  

We have a new database called Accessible Information Management (or AIM).  AIM is an online system where students can log in and access ODA services using their UNT log in credentials.  

•  You can now request your Fall 2019 Letters of Accommodation ONLINE and ODA will mail your LOAs to your instructors!!! Go to AIM Student Portal to log into AIM.  Step-by-step instructions can be found at How to request my Letters of Accommodation (pdf).  Letters will be emailed to instructors on the first day of classes.  
•  In addition, you can also log into AIM to SCHEDULE EXAMS in the ODA Test Center.  That is correct – NO MORE ATRFs!  You can also view the status of your ODA Test Requests any time of day or night as well as modify or cancel your test appointment. Step-by-step instructions can be found at How to schedule exams in ODA Test Center (pdf).

There are many other wonderful things that AIM can do, but the ODA has determined that these two functions are most crucial for ODA students at the beginning of a semester.  As additional services are activated in AIM, we will send out further information and schedule opportunities for training.

How will the AIM Faculty Login help faculty?  

1. Management of Students’ Letters of Accommodation (LOAs)
   • When students request accommodations, ODA will send the letters to faculty via email.
   • In addition, faculty will also have access to student letters and the students’ accommodations when faculty log into the AIM Portal.
2. Interact with the ODA Test Center (Updated ODA Test Center Administration Processes (pdf))
   • Complete ODA Testing Agreement(s) (IMPORTANT because student will NOT be able to request a test center appointment until faculty complete the agreement.)
     • Guidance for Completing the NEW ODA Testing Agreement (pdf)
   • See all exam proctoring requests students have submitted to the ODA Test Center.
3. Soon faculty will also be able to see assigned note-takers in their courses and review notes that have been uploaded from note-takers

Beginning Fall 2019, the ODA will no longer use Alternative Test Request Forms (ATRF) to schedule exams

Students will request testing appointments in the ODA Test Center by logging into AIM.  

Faculty will have to log into AIM to complete a Testing Agreement BEFORE student will be able to request a test center appointment.
