Why did you decide to attend UNT?

I fell in love with UNT’s music program, and their commitment to a diverse campus made me feel safe and at home.

What is your favorite place on campus? Why?

My favorite place on campus is Kenton Hall, which is used as a rehearsal space to the top Jazz Bands in the world. Go and check them out at 1:00 O’Clock, 2:00 O’Clock, 3:00 O’Clock etc… There are not many campuses where you can just walk in and listen to ASCAP Composer Award winners and Grammy nominees!

What is your favorite UNT fact?

We have over 300 practice rooms available to students free of charge, some even have upright pianos!

What is your favorite place/things to do in Denton? Why?

I love visiting the different coffee houses in Denton and meeting new people, also Taco Tuesdays at Mi Casita!

What advice do you have for prospective students?

The most valuable lesson I learned while at UNT was to ask questions! If you don’t know or understand something don’t be afraid to ask, there are lots of resources on campus and you will find someone to help you through the process.

Who do you like more? Deep Blue Something, Eli Young Band, or Bowling for Soup?

Bowling for Soup! I have really great memories of driving out of state, windows down and the radio blasting “Come back to Texas.”
