Gender Fair

Gender Fair is an educational and entertaining event highlighting concepts of gender constructs, hosted by UNT's Department of Communication Studies. The event is open to the public and is free of charge!

Led by Dr. Suzanne Enck and the students of the COMM 4140: Gender and Communication class. Gender fair presents opportunities for the public to learn about the social construction of gender as presented through five subjects: "Masculinities," "Feminism 101," "Unruly Bodies & Sexualities," "Politics & Public Life," "Gender & Violence." There will be games, prizes, and educational information revolving around a specific theme each semester.

As a tradition, Gender Fair will team up with the departmental honorary, Lambda Pi Eta, to collect items for Denton County Friends of the Family. This collection drive will take place at the Gender Fair. The public is invited to donate household items, clothes, and toiletries for Friends of the Family.
