The journey may have started on uncertain footing and without a clear path. Along the way, there were obstacles and shorts, people who helped and hindered, uphill climbs and high points. Each journey is a tale of lessons learned from success and failures. At this year’s Salute to Faculty Teaching Excellence, we’ll hear short stories from a dozen or more UNT faculty sharing their best or worst moment in teaching and what they learned from it.

The Secret Lives of Faculty
To kick-off our 2015 Salute to Faculty Excellence Week, brave UNT faculty members presented Pecha Kucha sessions on the theme “The Secret Lives of Faculty.” Pecha Kucha is Japanese for "chit-chat" and describes a presentation format using 20 slides which advance automatically in 20 second intervals.
When Did The Light Go On & What Did You See?
To kick-off our 2014 Salute to Faculty Excellence Week, Distinguished Teaching Professors and other award-winning faculty presented Pecha Kucha sessions on this theme: “When did the light go on and what did you see?” Pecha Kucha is Japanese for "chit-chat" and describes a presentation format using 20 slides which advance automatically in 20 second intervals. Our presenters used this format to share a personal story based on our theme. Feedback from the 125+ attendees indicated the program was “funspiring” – both fun and inspiring.
