The String Orchestra Day Camp (directed by Dr. Elizabeth Chappell) is offered each summer during the month of June. Over 125 students rehearse in elementary, middle, and high school orchestras under the direction of stellar guest conductors from the DFW area. Over the course of the week, ensembles will develop a concert program to be presented on the last day of camp. Students will also receive enrichment instruction in improvisation, music theory and history. String orchestra students with at least one year of experience playing violin, viola, cello or double bass are invited to attend. Students will have the opportunity to develop and maintain their technique, play fun music, and meet new friends.
