Executive Team

Chris leads the IT Shared Services department of the University of North Texas System. Chris's responsibilities as CIO include implementation of the system-wide consolidated information technology strategic plan, ensuring that short-term and long-term budgets are executed as planned, providing governance, setting priorities and decision making structures in place that lead to establishing a high performing, customer focused IT service organization.

Larry Mendez is the Chief Technology Officer for the IT Shared Services department at the University of North Texas System. Larry and his team are responsible for data communications; voice communications; web services and content management; servers, storage and backup; data centers and operations; directory services; end user support; and asset management.

Charlotte's responsibilities include management of enterprise IT policy and strategic planning, risk assessment, information security management programs, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, vendor and contract management services, communications, marketing, and professional development services, software licensing, information services and resource support, accessibility programs, and State of Texas initiative analysis and reporting.

Robert's responsibilities include directing the development, support and maintenance of the UNT System's shared software applications including the PeopleSoft ERP system, the Learning Management System, the ImageNow document imaging and management system and two dozen applications. The PeopleSoft applications include the Student Information System, human resources, payroll, financials, grants management, Constituent Relationship Management (CRM), and the student and employee portals.

The Strategic Services division is responsible for Portfolio and Project Management for ITSS. The staff of Strategic Services work directly with customers to request IT enhancements through the IT governance process. Once these requests are approved by governance, Strategic Services manages or assists in the project life cycle for the delivery of those IT enhancements.

Stephanie McCane  and her division, IT Business Services (ITBS), supports the annual budget process preparation, development, monitoring, management and reporting requirements of central enterprise computing services that support ITSS.  This area provides employee service functions including payroll, timekeeping, employee review services, and ITSS employment services.  Additionally, Stephanie and her division coordinate purchasing services for hardware, software and services along with maintaining accurate data of all maintenance contracts.  ITBS monitors vendor and interagency contracts, and reviews and approves purchases.  ITBS also provides executive support, in the form of emails, schedules and appointments for the associate vice chancellor and CIO.

Andy’s responsibilities include planning, developing, and maintaining technology blueprints that will deliver enterprise solutions for UNT System. He is also responsible for reviewing new technology architectures, promoting the use of existing and established architectures, advising Shared Services on business and technology innovations, and supporting the technology goals of the UNT campuses.
