Office of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness

The Office of Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness is led by Dr. Barbara Abercrombie, Vice Chancellor for Organizational Effectiveness and Chief Human Capital Officer.

Dr. Abercrombie joined the UNT System in September, 2018, and has rebuilt system and campus HR teams, while also improving internal communications, data accuracy and overall employee engagement.  The organization is focused on organizational effectiveness ‚Äì a systematic approach to enhance the performance of an organization through its people, by using interventions that focus on team performance, employee development, operational efficiency and organizational structure. By adding organizational effectiveness to the human resources structure, the UNT System puts an emphasis on strategic and transformational processes that will benefit UNTS campuses, as well as system administration.

Included in the HR organization is the Strategic & Operational Efficiency Department, which manages strategic projects identified by the Board of Regents and Chancellor. Organizational Development & Engagement is another key area, which includes talent management. UNT System HR also manages talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, HR data/records and equity, diversity and inclusion.
