Dallas Business Journal Recognizes UNT COB Professor

Dr. Mary Jones recognized with the 2016 Dallas Business Journal Women in Technology AwardOctober 2016 – This year, the Dallas Business Journal expanded its 2016 Women in Technology Awards program to include a half-day conference. Keynote speakers, including Ernst & Young's Shari Yocum and Niki Lee and Thomson Reuters' Katherine Manuel, balanced a chief information officer panel that explored the topic of managing through change. The afternoon wouldn't have been complete without a touch of networking and an awards segment to highlight the 2016 honorees.

From the University of North Texas, Mary C. Jones, was recognized as one of the talented, technology-focused women driving innovation, leading technology companies and working as a key contributor to the North Texas community. Jones' research interests are in the organizational issues and benefits of large scale information systems. Her recent projects have focused on issues surrounding the implementation of enterprise resource planning and post-adoptive behavior of firms after ERP implementation. Other research interests are in organizational impacts of large-scale information systems.

"I am working on several related research projects now that examine this topic from different perspectives," said Jones. "One perspective is how organizations achieve success in management support systems. Another research stream I have recently begun is management of IT in an organization, particularly focused on skills, knowledge and other antecedents of IT manager success."

The 25 women selected for the Women in Technology Award have a stake in the public and private arenas; span startups and tech meccas; and serve in roles from IT to IOT.2016 Dallas Business Journal Women in Technology logo
