You may have landed on this page because you registered for an Access Day 1 (AD1) course or you are curious about what Access Day 1 is at UNT.
Access Day 1 (AD1) is an affordability initiative at UNT that can help lower the cost of your course materials while giving you digital access on the first day of the semester. AD1 courses have a fee associated with them through the registration process that accounts for the cost of your materials. The fee for each course section may differ depending on the materials required for the specific course. You always have the choice to opt-out prior to the deadline (Sept 9) of the program but we encourage you to make sure you have the course materials so you are ready to start on day one.
By choosing an AD1 course at registration...
- You avoid the long line at the bookstore or avoid spending time trying to find the best deal online.
- You receive extremely competitive pricing on required course materials.
- You know that the materials are the most up-to-date and chosen by your instructor.
- You get to start your semester off feeling prepared by having digital access to your course materials at your fingertips on the first day of the course.
- Since it's a course fee, you can use financial aid to cover the cost of the course materials.

Required by federal law, you also have the choice to opt-OUT of the AD1 program by following these steps once the Canvas course is open for the semester. The deadline for opt-out is Sept 9.
