Performing Arts Medicine Clinic

The Performing Arts Medicine Clinic is supervised by Sajid Surve, D.O., Performing Arts Medicine specialist and Co-Director of the Texas Center for Performing Arts Health. Dr. Surve is triple-board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, neuromusculoskeletal medicine, and pain medicine.  As such, musculoskeletal problems are a major focus of clinical care at the Clinic. However, the entire faculty of the UNT Health Science Center is available for consultation and treatment encompassing the gamut of medical and surgical specialties.  The Performing Arts Medicine Clinic is also affiliated with Greater Therapy Centers, providing comprehensive physical and occupational therapy services.

UNT Health Science Center includes the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, the School of Public Health, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Health-Related Professions, which trains both Physician’s Assistants and Physical Therapists. The Performing Arts Medicine providers are also medical educators, training the next generation of medical students, PAs, and PTs, in addition to graduate students from the UNT College of Music, to recognize and treat medical problems arising in performing artists.
