The University of North Texas Men’s Chorus is open to tenors and basses interested in singing challenging music in a variety of styles. Members come from diverse backgrounds, including both music majors and non-music majors. The University of North Texas Women’s Chorus consists of 60 voices and is open to sopranos and altos interested in singing challenging music in a variety of styles. Singers come from diverse backgrounds, including both music majors and non-music majors.
An audition is not required for enrollment in Men’s & Women’s Chorus.
The UNT choral singing program is comprised of eight ensemble opportunities. In addition to participation in the university choirs, students regularly perform with the choruses of the Dallas Opera, Fort Worth Opera, the Dallas Symphony Chorus, Denton Bach Society, Schola Cantorum of Texas, and the Turtle Creek Chorale. A significant number of our students hold positions in professional choirs in the metroplex, including the Dallas Bach Society, Helios, Orchestra of New Spain, and Orpheus Chamber Singers.
The expansive Margot and Bill Winspear Performance Hall has been recognized as one of the finest concert halls in the world. The UNT College of Music began live streaming ensemble performances in 2009 for parents, potential students, and distant colleagues while showing the world-renowned music programs at UNT.
