Often times the decision to seek out help for your own recovery (or a loved ones) is a very challenging decision! The good news is that there is a wide array of resources available to assist in the entire continuum of care from intervention to recovery aftercare. On Campus Resources

UNTWELL Clinic

The UNTWELL clinic offers individual counseling, vocational assessments, and group counseling for students and community members. These services are free for UNT students.

Counseling and Testing Services (CTS)

Comprehensive psychological services to all UNT students. CTS strives to support the academic success and overal well-being of UNT students through professional counseling, career counseling, mental-health screenings, educational programs, as well as referral services.

Substance Use Resource and Education Center (SURE Center)

The SURE Center within The University of North Texas uses evidence-based research to provide both individual and group education regarding drugs and alcohol. The services implemented by SURE aims to encourgae healthy decision-making in an effort to reduce the harmul effects of substance use.

Student Health and Wellness Center

The Student Health and Wellness Center at UNT offers treatment for injuries, illnesses, and other medical issuses. In addition, the wellness center provides education services to keep students healthy.

The Meadows Center for Health Resouces

The Meadows Center for Health Resources is the health education office within the Student Health and Wellness Center. The Meadows Center consists of trained staff that are there to discuss a variety of health issues with students, and to make appropiate referrals to SHWC clinical staff or other resources.

Off Campus Resources Denton County MHMR Denton County MHMR Center is a Non-Profit Communty Center that specilizes in the treament of and service delivery to individuals in Denton County with a mental health diagnosis or a developmental disability diagnosis.

DFW 12-Step Meetings

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a global, community-based program that was created to help those strggling with problematic drinking enter into sobriety with the support of their peers through daily meetings and discussions surrounding addiction.

North Texas Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a Chirst-centered, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain, or addiction of any kind.

SMART Recovery Local Meetings

SMART Recovery, which stands for self-management and recovery training, is an international non-profit organization that provides assistance to individuals seeking abstinence from addictions.

Refuge Recovery

Refuge Recovery is a non-profit organization that practices Buddhists prinicples to create a strong foundation for a path to freedom from addiction.

National Supports Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is the agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads public health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. SAMHSA's mission is to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America's communities.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. 

  National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) Treatment Navigator NIAAA, The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, supports and conducts behavioural research on the causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of alcoholism and alcohol-related problems.
