Disney • Pixar artist Ana Ramirez to visit

CocoDisney•Pixar sketch artist Ana Ramirez will make an animation presentation and take audience questions on Monday, Nov. 6, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in RTFP 184.

Ramirez will focus on the upcoming Thanksgiving release of the feature film Coco.

As a sketch artist, Ramirez works with the art department to help develop a the visual look of a film's characters, set dressings, graphics, shading, and overall color.

She joined Pixar Animation Studios in 2013 as an intern, then joined the staff full-time in 2015 as a sketch artist after completing her education California Institute of Arts (CalArts).

Before becoming part of the Pixar staff, Ramirez worked freelance for Google, DreamWorks TV and Jib Jab, as well as FOX. Raised in Guanajuato, Mexico, her primary schooling was in Mexico followed by a short period in the United States. After high school, she moved to France to attend EMSA Montpellier art school before returning to study at CalArts where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video.
