How to Apply

Students are required to apply every year using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. For summer financial aid, you will also need to complete a Summer Application. Select your current status below to view more specific financial aid information.

Emerald Eagle Scholars

The Emerald Eagle Scholars program provides access to higher education for academically talented students with high financial need, and connects them to campus resources while engaging them in activities that facilitate their intellectual engagement, academic success and, ultimately, the timely completion of their bachelor’s degrees.

International Students

International students are not eligible for federal financial aid. UNT International may have other resources available.

Undocumented Students

Undocumented students may be eligible for state and institutional financial assistance through the Texas Application for State Financial Aid.

Veteran Students

Students who are eligible to receive veterans educational benefits should check with Student Veteran Services.

Special Programs and Study Abroad

Financial aid recipients may be able to use available financial aid to assist with the educational expenses associated with special program enrollment or study abroad opportunities. Students interested in Study Abroad should contact the Study Abroad Office for more information on their programs.
