Crime Prevention Unit - The key to a safe and secure tomorrow.
The Crime Prevention Unit is committed to develop, evaluate, and disseminate educational programs, brochures, ideas and tips to students, faculty, and staff. This is an effort to decrease the number of incidents and offenses that occur on campus, and to increase the safety for everyone. Listed below are some programs that are available to you upon request.

  • Personal Safety - This presentation consists of student hand outs and lectures on how to increase your personal safety at home, street, traveling, being followed, and responding to an attack.
  • Theft Prevention - This presentation covers how to protect you from thefts of bicycles, books, computers, automobiles, and other personal items.
  • The Truth about Alcohol - Informative presentation on the stages of Intoxication, problem with alcohol abuse, and the affect of alcohol and your health.
  • Drug Recognition - Show and Tell presentation on commonly used drugs, dangerous drugs, drug paraphernalia, slang terms, and the use and effects of drugs.
  • Binge Drinking - This presentation consists of hand outs and lectures on the danger of binge drinking, why some people binge drink, and how to resist the pressure of binge drinking.
  • General Self-Defense - This presentation consists of hand out, lectures and hands on training. The student will learn about primary and secondary weapons, target locations, strikes, kicks, and other self-defense strategies. This is a two-hour presentation.
