WACO, Texas- North Texas won five of six matches and advanced two doubles pairs to the round of 16 at ITA Regionals on Saturday.
"Winning five of six demonstrates our improved confidence," said associate head coach Jeff Maren. "Our lone loss was to the No. 5 Texas team, and the match was actually ours to win. A few mistakes cost us the match, but overall it was a good performance today."
Paula Dinuta and Amy Joubert defeated doubles teams from Sam Houston 8-1 and Rice 8-4 to advance to the Round of 16.
No. 4 pairing Irina Paraschiv and Barbora Vykydalova defeated Rebecca Calvillo and Marie LeBlond from UTEP 8-5 in their only match.
Nadia Lee and Madura Ranganathan fell to No. 5 Krista Damico and Aeriel Ellis of Texas 8-6 in the round of 32, after rolling 8-0 over a pairing from UTSA.
