The Admissions Process to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies is divided into a process for U.S Citizens and a different process for International Students. Please choose the one below that applies to you.
Admission Tips
Below are some helpful tips to help your application not be delayed.
- Include your full name on every page and student ID (if known).
- Print documents one-sided on letter size (8.5” x 11”) paper.
- All documentation must be in English.
- Do not staple pages together.
- Always include accurate contact information (email preferred method).
- All recommendation letters must be signed and on letterhead. Read recommendation information carefully.
- If business cards are included, they should be taped to the corresponding page.
- Essays should match topic and be no more than 600-700 words.
- Notify mbaCoB@unt.edu when you have completed the GMAT.
- A cover page is not required. Include name in header .

Any student applying to an MBA/MS program must be fully admitted prior to orientation and be able to attend orientation. Applications received on or after the date of orientation will not be considered; therefore, these students will be required to defer their applications to a subsequent semester.

Once you have completed your application, you will need to submit your application fee. Fee amounts are $60 for US Citizens and Permanent Residents.
3. Submit Official Transcripts
Secondary school graduates must send official secondary credentials and graduation certificates, if applicable.
If you have ever attended and/or graduated from a university, you must send official transcripts from all universities attended.

Essay
Essay of unique events, life experiences, and qualifications that you feel distinguish your candidacy and will add to the value of the class. (Must be no more than 600 – 700 words)
Resume
A resume consisting of work and academic experience.
Two Letters of Recommendation
Two (2) recommendations. Recommendations must be signed and dated and on letterhead. Alternatively, recommendation forms may be downloaded or picked up in BA 229. All recommendations should be professional or academic in nature. They must be written by college professors and/or supervisors and managers only. Professors must be from different colleges, if they are from the same university. Supervisors and managers must be from different divisions or departments, if they are from the same company. Recommendations are not acceptable from family, friends, clergy, high school teachers/administrators, subordinates, co-workers, etc. Your full name and student ID must be included on ALL pages.
5. Submit Official GMAT Scores
The College of Business requires the GMAT be taken. Scores must be less than 5 years old for all MBA/MS programs . Scores may take 4-6 weeks to be processed and must be received before the deadline. There is no minimum score to apply, the average score is a 520 (lower scores will be considered).

The GMAT is US $250.00 and is due upon scheduling an appointment by calling 1-800-717-GMAT or online at: www.mba.com. Fall 2008 average is 520.
6. Check Status Online
There are two ways to check your status.
- To check if your transcripts and GMAT scores have been submitted: The Toulouse School of Graduate Studies (TSGS) will send you an email and pin number to check online at: www.my.unt.edu. You will need to activate your EUID with the pin number and click on Admissions Status.
- To check if your supporting documents (essay, resume, recommendation) have been submitted: Email your full name and student ID to mbaCoB@unt.edu.

4. Demonstrate English Language Proficiency
All applicants to UNT must show proof of English language proficiency. For International students, this is most commonly demonstrated through TOEFL. However, we accept more methods of English proficiency than most other 4-year universities in the U.S. because of the international experience of our employees and their knowledge of international curriculums. See the list of acceptable measures below.
NOTE: UNT has made changes to its English Language Proficiency requirements, effective August 2007.
1. English Study at IELI:
Completion of Level 6 of the IELI at UNT qualifies you to enter:
1. All undergraduate degree programs
2. All graduate degree programs except:
- English Literature requires TOEFL 233 computer (MA) and 267 computer (PhD)
- Completion of Level 6 of the IELI at UNT qualifies you to enter UNT.
- Official Transcript showing graduation from accredited U.S. high school or U.S. Department of Defense school overseas: attended for at least 3 years - Remember! Send your SAT or ACT scores.
- Official Transcript of U.S. Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree - Degree must be posted.
