Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs

 

The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for supporting the activities and maximizing the performance of the educational, research and clinical programs of the Health Science Center.  The office strives to promote collaboration, interdisciplinary initiatives, shared services and economies of scale, while fostering the academic and professional strengths of the Health Science Center faculty and students.

 

As Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Thomas Yorio serves as chief academic officer for the Health Science Center and provides overall direction for all academic programs and research.  He is responsible for directing campus wide strategic planning efforts which promote the coordination of schools, key programs and initiatives and fostering effective communication.  Dr. Yorio was also responsible for leading the health science center in its Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) reaffirmation, which took place in March 2010.  Please visit the site links below for full detail of the programs and services offered.
