Letter from our Dean

Tom EvensonHello and welcome to one of the most unique and exciting colleges in Texas.

The College of Public Affairs & Community Service (PACS) is a perfect fit for those who want to make a real difference in the world.

Our greatest pride are our graduates -- thousands of them who are working in Texas, the United States, and throughout the world in social and community services, as law enforcement and emergency administration professionals, city managers, retirement home administrators, and in business and industry. Our graduates leave UNT prepared to work with people, groups and communities in ways that change lives.

PACS started in 1973 with three very small programs and has grown to become UNT’s fourth largest college. It is home to six departments that engage in applied research and offer two doctoral, seven master's, and eight bachelor’s degree programs. Our faculty, staff and students are committed to fulfilling our collective mission to improve the quality of life in the local and global community.

Thank you for exploring the PACS website. I invite you to contact us to learn more about the “PACS Impact” and how you can be a part of us.

Sincerely,

Thomas L. Evenson, Dean
