Mission of Mean Green Compliance
University
North Texas is committed and obligated to the principle of
institutional control in operating its athletics programs in accordance
with NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. The charge
of the compliance office is to educate, monitor, and verify NCAA rules
compliance with regard to each sport and component within the Athletic
Department.
The compliance office works to identify and reduce
areas of risk within the athletic program that could negatively impact
University of North Texas. If a problem arises, it is the
responsibility of the compliance office to determine how the problem
occurred, how it could have been prevented and how to reduce the
chances of it occurring in the future.
The compliance office
strives to be proactive with education along with having cohesive
monitoring systems that are effective and user friendly. All components
within an athletic program must work together and each function
properly, effectively and efficiently to insure compliance.
The
compliance office embraces communication with student-athletes,
coaches, athletic personnel, and all other entities and is always
available to address questions, concerns, or interpret NCAA rules. The
compliance office is located in the Mean Green Village Student-Athlete
Academic Center.
