Fire Evacuation Procedures
Resident Halls on the University of North Texas Campus

Bruce Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. The two main areas that people should congregate are the Terrill Hall Parking lot on the north side of Bruce and the Administration Parking lot on the south side of Bruce. Residents/guests should remain in these areas until the all-clear to re-enter the building has been sounded.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating residents/guests, they should begin checking to insure that all residents/guests are presented and/or accounted for.
  4. Staff members should instruct the residents/guests to group first by wing (A, B, C, D) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Clark Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests should congregate in the parking area to the north of the building.  Residents/guests should remain in this area until the all-clear to re-enter the building has been sounded.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating residents/guests, they should begin accounting for present residents/guests.
  4. Staff members should instruct residents/guests to group first by wing (A, B, C) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

College Inn:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests in the East wing will be asked to gather in the ESSAT parking lot and the residents/guests in the West wing will be asked to gather in the R lot across North Texas Blvd.  These groups are to wait there until further instructions.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the building, they should begin to account for all the residents/guests present.
  4. Staff members should then instruct residents to groups by floor.
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Crumley Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests should be instructed to group together on the grounds on the south side of Willis Library across Highland Ave.  Residents/guests should remain in this area until the all-clear to re-enter the building has been sounded.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group first by wing (A, B, C) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Work with Central Housing and Dining Services to insure that all employees that were present in the building at the time of the alarm are accounted for.
  6. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Honors Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests will gather in the Maple Hall parking lot across Ave. C.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group first by wing (A, B, C) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Kerr Hall A Tower:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on the floor.
  2. Residents/guests should be instructed to group together in the parking lot behind Kerr Hall, specifically in the southwest corner behind the first concrete median.  Residents/guests should remain in this area until the all-clear to re-enter has been sounded.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the residents/guests, they should being accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group by floor.  It is useful to use the concrete medians as reference points.
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary. 

Kerr Hall B Tower:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on the floor.
  2. Residents/guests should be instructed to group together in the parking lot behind Kerr Hall, specifically in the southwest corner behind the first concrete median.  Residents/guests should remain in this area until the all-clear to re-enter has been sounded.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the residents/guests, they should being accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group by floor.  It is useful to use the concrete medians as reference points.
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Legends Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests will gather in the R parking lot across Ave. D from the hall.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group first by wing (A, B, C) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Maple Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests should be instructed to proceed to the southeast section of the Maple Hall parking lot.  Residents/guests should remain in this area until the all-clear to re-enter the building has been sounded.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating residents/guests, they should being accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group first by wing (A, B, C) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

McConnell Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests should be instructed to proceed to the parking lot to the north of the building across Sycamore Street.   Residents/guests should remain in these areas until the all-clear to re-enter the building has been signaled.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct guests to group first by wing (A, B, C) and then by floor (A-1, B-1, C-1, ect.).
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Mozart Square:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests when evacuating the building will exit the back of the building and go to the UNT Police Station back into the parking lot.  The residents/guests should remain in this area until the all-clear to re-enter the building has been signaled. 
  3. After the staff members have succeeded in evacuating the residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct the residents/guests to group by floor.
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Santa Fe/Traditions Halls:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests when evacuating the building will exit out the south exits and congregate in the stadium parking lot.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  4. Staff members should instruct the residents/guests to group by floor.
  5. Assist HDOC as necessary.

Victory Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests when evacuating out of the northeast wing 1st floor, they need to exit the far north east door and walk across parking lot to far East side.
  3. Residents/guests when evacuating out the northwest wing 1st floor, they need to take the exit out the south west door, go around the building and across the parking lot to the far East side.
  4. Residents/guests when evacuating out the northeast 2nd and 3rd floors, need to take the stairs and exit out the front east door and walk across the parking lot.
  5. Residents/guests when evacuating out the northwest 2nd and 3rd floors need to exit out the front west door, go through the lobby and exit the east door and walk across the parking lot.
  6. Residents/guests when evacuating out the southeast wing ALL floors, they need to exit out of the back East door and go to the parking lot across the street.
  7. Residents/guests when evacuating out the southwest wing 1st floor, they need to exit out the back West door and walk east to the parking lot.
  8. Residents/guests when evacuating out the southwest wing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor wings need to exit the front west door, follow the sidewalk, and walk around the building to the east parking lot.
  9. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the residents/guests, they should begin accounting for all present.
  10. Staff members should instruct the residents/guests to group by floor.
  11. Assist HDOC as necessary.

West Hall:

  1. Residents/guests will follow evacuation routes set out on their floor.
  2. Residents/guests when evacuating out of the north wing need to proceed to the north parking lot and the residents/guests evacuating out of the south wing need to cross North Texas Blvd. and stand in the soccer fields.
  3. After staff members have succeeded in evacuating the building, they should begin accounting for all present.  Residents/guests should remain in these areas as staff members group by floor to check rosters.
  4. Assist HDOC as necessary.
