Professor Myra Walker has been a curator at the Texas Fashion Collection at UNT since 1987, where she also teaches courses in fashion history. Walker was the guest curator at the Meadows Museum at SMU for an exhibition entitled Balenciaga and His Legacy: Haute Couture from the Texas Fashion Collection in 2007. Walker also wrote an exhibition catalog of the same title published in November 2006 by Yale University Press, UK. In fall 2006, Walker established Fashion on Main at 1901 Main in the Universities Center at Dallas. Walker is a member of the Costume Society of America and the American Association of Museums.

Dawn FiguroaDawn Figueroa recently joined the staff at the Texas Fashion Collection as collection manager in November 2008. She relocated to Texas from Hamilton, New York where she worked as museum assistant for the Picker Art Gallery at Colgate University. She has had a long time love of fashion and is thrilled to be bringing her art and museum background to the Texas Fashion Collection.

Kari Erickson joined the Collection in June 2008 after transferring from Iowa State, where she studied Fashion Design for 2 years. Now she is majoring in Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies, with a minor in Counseling and Merchandising. Kari will graduate in May 2011.





jasmineJasmine Rose joined the Texas Fashion Collection in May 2009. She is currently the Receptionist for the Collection and Scoular Hall. She is majoring in Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies with a minor in African American Studies. She plans on graduating in 2012.




AlyssaAlyssa King started volunteering at the Collection in October 2008. She loved it so much, she came on as an employee in January 2009. She is majoring in Art History, with a minor in History. After her May 2011 graduation, she plans to pursue her graduate degree in art history.





Marla joined the collection as a volunteer in 2010. She is majoring in Development and Family Studies and Fiber Arts and plans to work with historical costumes after graduating in 2014.
