U.S. News and World Report ranks:

Master of Science (MS) in Library & Information Sciences #17 in the nation
Medical Informatics program 3^rd in the nation and first in Texas
Services for Children and Youth program 13^th in the nation
School library media certification 11th in the nation and is the first online program of its kind in the U.S.

Around Campus

COI is second, after the College of Engineering, in average award per faculty.
Three COI faculty members ranked among the top 15 UNT faculty members in terms of all external awards in 2009.
COI ranks first in enrollment increase (47%) in the university over the academic year 2009-2010.

Other Honors

COI departments, Learning Technologies and Library and Information Sciences, have secured grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), and several other institutions to promote the advancement of several programs of study.

The College of Information offers the nation’s largest interdisciplinary PhD program in information science.

The Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences program is accredited by the American Library Association.
