Alumni Society

The purpose of this Society shall be to advance the interests of the College and promote a closer association between the College and its Alumni. Anyone who has been awarded a degree or certificate from the University of North Texas- Library and Information Sciences or Learning Technologies is eligible for membership in the Society. Faculty and other friends of the College, as recommended by the Dean and Board, are also eligible. Honorary membership may be extended to individuals by unanimous vote of the Board. The UNT College of Information Alumni Society is not affiliated with the UNT Alumni Association but is its own separate entity.

The Alumni Society Board is chosen from within the organization by their peers. You must be a current Alumni Society member to nominate an officer. The Alumni Society board assists with the oversight of the Alumni Society and serves two year terms.

The Board reflects the professional and geographic diversity of the College’s alumni. Board meetings are held twice a year. Board members serve on membership, alumni awards, bylaws, and nomination committees.
