Starting a Business in Texas

Take advantage of the many online resources available for start-ups and small businesses.

 

The UNT Libraries' Business Portal provides helpful resources for starting a small business. If you are a UNT student or faculty member you can access these resources off campus by using your EUID and password. If you are not a UNT student or faculty member you can access these resources using a guest login on any computer inside the UNT Libraries. 

 

TexasOnline is the official eGovernment web site for the State of Texas and is the primary resource for Texas web-based services.

 

An Online Business Service from the Office of the Secretary of State. You must create an account to use this site.

 

Business.gov helps small businesses understand their legal requirements and locate government services from federal, state and local agencies.Business.gov is an official site of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

 

An SBDC conducts research, counsels and trains business people in managing, financing and operating small businesses, providing comprehensive information services and access to experts in a variety of fields. Each SBDC encourages unique local efforts to meet small business needs in its area. SBDCs develop and maintain partnerships among community organizations and agencies: local, state and federal, to provide a focal point for broad networks of public and private resources at the community level.SBDC partnership programs and activities have contributed significantly to economic growth in each state.

The North Texas Small Business Development Center (NTSBDC) network serves the needs of established and start-up small businesses in northeast and north central Texas. It is a partnership program between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Dallas County Community College District.
