The University of North Texas doctoral program in educational research educates the candidate in scientific inquiry to foster statistical analysis, measurement, research methods, computer data analysis, and educational research trends affecting school districts, universities, and higher education.

The educational research program offers the potential candidate challenging courses in statistics, measurement, research design, evaluation and computer data analysis. The graduates of this program focus on applied and theoretical quantitative methodologies that are in great demand nationwide.

The competition for resources in our society and the stricter standards of accountability placed on our institutions have increased the demand for long-range planning and assessment by our public and private schools. This has fueled an acute need for individuals with quantitative and qualitative research skills. The successful candidate in the educational research doctoral program is motivated by problem-solving, comfortable with systematic approaches and research principles and challenging advanced statistical methods.
