our purpose
Since
1985, the 12-County High School Art Competition has been an extraordinary
opportunity for talented eleventh- and twelfth-grade students throughout
North Texas to exhibit their best works in mixed media, printmaking,
photography, drawing, three-dimensional art, painting, and computer
design.
The competition has more than 1,500 entries each year, from some 120
school districts. For many students, this is their only opportunity
to compete with their peers for scholarships and awards.
These are the young people who will influence our environment in the
21st century. They will be not only the painters, potters and sculptors
of the future, but also the designers of our clothes, our cars, our
homes and our lifestyles. Eighty percent of our environment will be
enhanced by nurturing and encouraging these future artists.
Students in the following counties are eligible to enter this juried
competition: Brown, Comanche, Cook, Denton, Eastland, Erath, Hood,
Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant and Wise. |
