The World Health Organization Report 2000 lists cardiovascular
disease as the #1 noncommunicable cause of death in the world.
The Cardiovascular Research Institute,
founded in 1995, seeks to further our understanding of cardiovascular
disease and improve the techniques used in the prevention, detection,
diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular disease and the rehabilitation
of its victims. The diseases we target are: myocardial infarction,
hypertension, congestive heart failure, and stroke.
