Life on Campus
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth strives
to create an atmosphere for students that stimulates learning and integrates
extracurricular experiences into the formal learning programs. At the health
science center, preventative medicine is a way of life. We encourage our
students to develop the habits of leadership that will serve this community
and the communities they choose in the future. This means developing personal
and professional involvement in a wide range of community health activities.
Support services are provided to students by the Division of Student Affairs. The main office is located on the first floor of the Administration Building (EAD 1). The division encompasses Student Affairs Administration, Student Development, Academic Support Services, Medical Student Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar. We hope you will rely on our Student Affairs staff to assist with your needs and concerns, both academically and personally, during your academic career at the health science center.
We are a smoke-free campus. We encourage and support our students to promote good health. That includes programs to help stop smoking, lose weight, improve fitness through activities at our Founder's Activity Center and other activities throughout the year. Our family services group is always available for counseling and support.
While our campus is located at the heart of an urban area it is extraordinary in that we are part of a world-renown cultural district, near major municipal parks and adjacent to the Will Rodgers Memorial Center which hosts a variety of events throughout the year. Whether your interest is equestrian, rodeo, live theater, jazz, ice hockey, baseball, running or a wide range of other activities, you will find many opportunities to attend or participate in your interest in Fort Worth and the Metroplex.
