Center for Parent Education and Family Support is a
program of Development, Family Studies, and
Early Childhood Education in the Department of
Counseling, Development, and Higher Education in the UNT College
of Education.
The Mission of the Center for Parent Education is to support parent and family educators, family support professionals, and students through research, education, involvement, and child and family policy inquiry.
The Center for Parent Education assists in the establishment of partnerships with parents,
schools, and agencies through research and training. Some of the Center's ongoing activities include:
- National Conference on Parent Education
- Continuing Education through Online Training
- Database Registry for Parent Educators
- Resource Library
- Texas Association of Parent Educators (TAPE)
- Outreach to Parents of Newborns
- Professional Development Recognition System
